Visiting Senior Research Fellow
Eiki Tagami is a visiting senior research fellow in Institute of Geoeconomics at International House of Japan from May 2024. With over 30 years of experience at a Japanese trading house, Mr. Tagami has specialized in risk management and industry analysis. From 2006 to 2017, he worked at a think tank within the trading house, covering a wide range of industry analysis work with a particular focus on value-chain analysis. In 2021, he was appointed to be in charge of economic security in the trading house. He completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Tokyo and holds a BA in Political Science from Waseda University

Program Coordination Manager
Akihiko Sasaki is Program Coordination Manager at the Institute of Geoeconomics (IOG). He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Science and Technology at Keio University and a Master of Science’s degree in Materials Chemistry from the same university. He has worked at Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. (now part of Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd.), where he was involved in management advisory, the implementation of integrated management systems, and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) projects. He also participated in a corporate restructuring project at Royal Dutch Shell. In addition, he served in the National Showa Shell Oil Workers’ Union as Secretary General and Chair of the Executive Committee. He has recently worked at the Cabinet Office of Japan under the Director General for Disaster Management. He contributed to the development of the “Business Continuity Guidelines” for companies and to initiatives promoting the adoption of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) by enterprises, as well as serving as a public relations planner. He has held his current position since June 2024.
